The day of surgery started at 6:30 a.m. Travers could have clear liquids until 7:00 a.m. so we woke him up to have a drink.
Dad is not a morning person!
A babysitter came to sit with the girls as Travers, Jean-Paul and I headed to the hospital. Travers was okay prior to surgery. He was so brave and such a good boy! He won every one's heart and made them laugh.
Travers really like showing his tonsils before surgery!
The surgery last about an hour. The Dr. was amazing! She also noticed that Travers voice sounds "raspy" and asked if she could take a look at his vocal cords. We agreed. She also asked if was a screamer....if you know Travers you know we quickly answered..YES! He love to scream. She said that because we do not know his birth history she should take a look. The doctor did find nodules on his vocal cords but said they looked "normal" and were most likely from his screaming. She recommend behavior modification and/or speech therapy for voice retraining. Looks like mom and dad need some work! :)
Anyway....Travers was a model patient after surgery. He took his meds and drank his liquids. We came home and he enjoyed watching his new movies. He ate and drank lots of things last night. Then he went to be.
The night was not so good. The pain woke him shortly after midnight and he would not take his pain medicine. He was crying uncontrollably which was not helping. He finally swallowed about half the medicine and fell asleep from exhaustion.
He woke up in pain. He again would not take the liquid medicine but would take the meltaway Tylenol which seems to be working. He has yet to eat anything today but is drinking so we are happy.
Here are some post-surgery photos and a photo from today! Thanks for all the good energy everyone sent our way!
And today...oh and his nodules!
