Preview

While on Bald Head Island we had a photographer take some family photos. The kids were crazy and the illness was setting in but we attempted the session anyway. Our photographer, Anne McGowan, sent a few preview photos and I thought I would share a few.

The farmstead-2

Just a few more photos from our trip to the farmstead. Lindsey the woman who helps us this summer also came with us! the last thing we did was feed corn to the chickens and roosters. Isabelle wanted to feed them but kept putting the food just outside the fence. I think she was driving the animals crazy!! We finally convinced her to throw it on the other side of the fence and she laughed so hard when the animals ate her corn.

Back to the farm

Today was a beautiful day so we decided to head back to the farmstead! You can see Isabelle in her stroller when we got near the goats...she does NOT like to be near animals! Travers went into the petting area but the girls stayed out. Isabelle and Amelie loved looking at the ducks, playing on the playground and driving the tractors! Travers caught another fish and made friends with a calf!

Pig Tails

Isabelle did NOT want her picture taken but I wanted to document her first "true" pig tails! She is too funny...the whole time I was putting them in she was saying, "ow, ow, ow" and laughing. Her hair if finally long enough...Amelie is close! Don't look too closely at my part...she was moving all over!

Happy Birthday Jean-Paul!

As I mentioned we celebrated JP's birthday the night before we left on vacation. We had cupcakes and Travers helped blow out the candles. Amelie ate her frosting and cupcake with a spoon while Travers and Isabelle just we at it. Isabelle truly is the messiest kid I know...she LOVES to be messy!

Mom and the diving board

I use to LOVE to dive as a child! We would always see who could come up with the best dive, flip, jump, etc. At gymnastics came we even put a mini tramp near the pool so we could dive higher! I had fun trying to flip...the kids loved to watch and Isabelle laughed!

Pool fun!

Travers and Amelie love the pool. Travers is doing great and look at Amelie float! She almost fell asleep floating! Isabelle is still warming up to the water. She loves to stand on the steps and play with her Dora bucket...oh...and eat Cheetos!

Travers' swim lessons

These are a little out of order but I found some photos that I did not post. Here is Travers swimming in the big pool. As you know he will now go off the diving board at our house so I think the swim lessons worked! He is more confident in the pool!

Dad and the girls

The girls and dad had some fun tonight before going to bed! Don't laugh too hard at Amelie's PJ's...she had been taking off her clothes and diaper at night so we now have to dress her in PJ's that snap up the back.

Good to be home!

The kids LOVED being home! We played all morning...it was like they had never seen their toys before!

The diving board

On the plane ride home Travers announced to Jean-Paul that he was ready to jump off the diving board. So when we got home he put on his suit and vest and did exactly what he said he would do...he jumped! He was so proud!

To the airport

We finally had everyone packed up and headed to the airport. I was not feeling the best and was so nervous I would get sick on the plane but somehow we all made it home!

Playing in Chapel Hill

As we packed to leave the kids had a great time playing! Then we were lucky to have a visit from Erin, Owen and Rhen. Erin grew up across the street from me and has two beautiful children. Rhen and Travers have only met a few times but seem to have a strong bond. They are both from the same area in China.
