Bald Head

We all made it safely to Bald Head Island and are having a wonderful time! I thought I packed my card reader to be able to post some photos but I can not find it! Sorry. That means next week there will be lots of photos!

Travers is in awe with the ocean! He was initially scared of the water but now loves to jump in the waves with mom and dad. Isabelle was also scared of the water but quickly warmed up as she sat on grandma's lap and let the waves roll over them...not sure who had more fun...Isabelle or grandma! And Amelie loved the water but did not like the sand. I think it was a bit of sensory overload...but like the others she slowly got use to it. I can't say she likes the sand but it was tolerable.

Travers loves to ride in the "go cart"...or golf carts which are the only mode of transportation on the island....well other then bikes which the adults use at times.

The kids are loving being with grandma and grandpa and mom and dad get to sleep in a bit which is always a treat! We are having family photos taken tonight by a professional. The photographer is meeting us at 6:45 pm which must be the best light...we will see what sort of photos we get with 3 kids at 6:45 pm!! Thank goodness we are less of a "posed" family and more of a photo journalistic type because as Jean-Paul said...we may get a lot of photos of the kids running away...I mean running down the beach!! :)

Oh well! We have two more days on the island and then we head to Chapel Hill. Dad, mom, Travers, and grandpa are all going sea kayaking tomorrow which should be a great adventure!

Isabelle has not tried the seafood, Travers has tried a little and Amelie eats it all...even the calamari that looked like a little octopus according to Travers!

Isabelle is a bit under the weather today so we will see what the day brings. We are going to head to the Shoals Club which has a beach where the Cape Fear meets the Atlantic as well as a wonderful pool. Should provide many more adventures!

The only negative thing that has happened on our trip happened on the first day. Jean-Paul realized as we were boarding the ferry that his blackberry was missing. I called the phone and guess what...someone called us back. It was Delta and they found his phone on the plane! We were so happy. The woman said it was in a safe but she would transfer it to baggage so it could be delivered to us. Well.....somewhere in the transfer to baggage it was lost! UGH! I feel sorry for the initial women who was so trusting to believe she could give it to baggage and it would make it to us....but it did not. So now when we arrive in Southport to pick up our van Jean-Paul has to buy a new blackberry and deliver the receipt to Delta so they can reimburse him for his phone. Not a horrible ending but just disappointing.

Anyway...I will post more later and will keep looking for my card reader...we have LOTS of great photos!!
