Outdoor play

Tonight Travers and dad headed to the Bass Pro Shop for some fun. Travers LOVES this store. He actually really loves the original store located in Springfield, MO because it has a museum and aquarium in addition to the store but our "little" version will do for him!

The girls and I decided to head outside because it is really cool here tonight thanks to hurricane Dolly...or what's left of her. The girls ate lollipops, talked to grandma and played with the neighbors cat! Which of course was the highlight for them being that half the time they are cats these days! We also ran into our neighbors and decided to go for a short walk. The older girls showed Amelie and Isabelle a small playhouse nearby and they all had a tea part. They loved it! I just followed as the girls played. The older girls said they were going to come over every night until school started because they just love Isabelle and Amelie!

A little rain never hurt!

The kids and I headed to the grocery store this morning. Now the weather man said it would rain around noon....not 10:15....15 minutes after we left the house! Oh well...we just kept going. We stopped at a coffee house for some Chai tea and lemon cake. As we were leaving the coffee store the girls decided to become kittens again! Travers was laughing so hard which made them laugh and the couple sitting at a nearby table! At the grocery store it was really raining so we decided to eat an early lunch of noodles, egg rolls and crab rangoon...oh and some fortune cookies of course! The rain let up and we walked home. It turned out to be a great morning/early afternoon!

Did I mention Crocs?

Just one more photo before I head off to bed. The kids love their crocs and we had just put in the new "thingies" and we had to take a photo. Then tonight I had to play with the photo on photoshop! Pretty cute I think! And don't you just love that both girls have their shoes on the wrong feet!! You guessed it...another situation of "I do, I do, I do"!!!

Making new friends

After dinner Jean-Paul and Travers decided to go to the library and then to get ice cream. The girls and I took a bath, put on our PJ's and headed outside because it was such a nice night. Isabelle spotted two girls walking up the street and ran to them to say hi. Now Isabelle does not talk much...in fact she thinks she can talk but it sounds like gibber jabber. The girls looked at her and started to laugh....which made Isabelle laugh....which attracted Amelie to the scene and soon all four girls were sitting on the curb having a conversation. It was awesome. Turns out the girls live a few houses down and are sisters. Everyone had a great time and Isabelle and Amelie showed the girls how they can be cats while the older girls tried hard to fix Izzy and Amelie's headbands (which the I & A did themselves...you know..."I do, I do, I do!"

Tears

Okay....so there were also a few tears. I believe Isabelle swiped Amelie's toy and ran. We got it back and all was well again!

Playtime!

When Travers and I returned home we decided to just play with Amelie and Isabelle! We ran, played on the bed, played on the computer and just had fun! We all laughed and laughed! A few of the photos shows the girls being silly. They were copying each other....so cute!

The rest of the day!

The rest of the day Travers and I played, visited TWO pet stores in search of sharks...which we finally found...a leopard shark! Bought birthday invitations for the girls, went to Target, had a drink at Starbucks, and found some new "thingies" for his and his sisters crocs! (I can't remember the official name)! Did I mention that we also feed the Koi!

Lunch with Friends

Travers and I spent the day together. We met some friends for lunch! Boy did the boys have fun! Not so sure about the older couple sitting next to us! Oh well....they really were fairly well behaved...just boys (with rubber snakes and alligators)!

Making a wish!

Travers loves to throw money into the fountain. I tried to explain that he could make a wish but he just wanted to see if he could get the money to land in the top part of the fountain. One coin actually flew over the fountain and landed on an older gentleman sitting on a bench. For a moment he looked shocked...as if money was falling from the sky! Another older couple and I joined him in laughter when he saw Travers coming over to say sorry and retrieve his coin.

Me and my shadow

These are from the zoo last week. Isabelle found her shadow and thought it was so funny! She kept trying to catch it and then would stop and laugh! She had me and a number of other people nearby laughing right along with her!

Corn on the cob

Okay....so I know I have mentioned this before but our girls LOVE corn on the cob! These are from dinner tonight but on Friday Amelie ate 5 pieces of corn. I break them in half but that is still two and a half ears of corn!!

Sunday afternoon

After some great naps we headed over to a friends house for some swimming and watermelon! It was a great time. We had our three kids plus our friend who was adopted from China when Travers was and our friend who was adopted from Vietnam when we adopted Amelie. Just looking around the table made you smile! The kids had fun together as did the parents! We plan to do it again this week!

Travers found!

After breakfast Travers finished his game and the girls, mom and dad all played in his room. Mom read the paper on his bed while dad monitored the girls who LOVE to climb up and down the bunk beds ladder! You can just see the joy on their faces!!

Sunday morning

Just another Sunday morning in the Wong house. Travers was playing dinosaurs and computer games...photos of him to follow! Grandma gave us this great pan to make stuffed pancakes which are a huge hit in our house. Amelie wanted to help make the pancakes this morning. We stuff them with blueberries or chocolate chips.

Dragon Boat Festival

The kids and I went to the dragon boat festival today. It was so, so hot but the kids had fun. The girls looked so cute in some of their shirts we bought in China. Travers and Isabelle loved running from dragon boat to dragon boat....Amelie was a bit hesitant. The kids colored dragons to place on boats made out of newspaper, watched Chinese dancers and finished with the drums. Travers loved watching the children play the drums! I will have to look into the class for him!

Travers was so good all day and had counted out enough money to walk to Barnes and Noble and buy a book or train. It was so hot but he made it the whole way! We were all hot and tired.

So...are you wondering where the photos from today are...UGH!! Here is the sad part about today. I had my camera and took some wonderful, fun photos. We got to Barnes and Noble and I realized my camera was gone. I am so sad. I am not so sad that the camera is gone...I can always buy another...what makes me sad is that someone out there has the photos of my children.

The kids and I ran back to the festival and looked all around, had them announce that we lost our camera and turned our name into the information booth and the security office for the area. I truly think that someone picked the camera up off the back of my stroller. It was very crowded. I am slowly giving up hope of someone turning it in...the festival ended at 1:00 and it is now 2:30. I just hope that someone wanted to quickly sell the camera for money and deleted the photos.

The only somewhat good thing is that I had just cleared the card that was in the camera so there were not too many photos on the camera card.

Ugh....oh well...hopefully I will get over this soon!

Travers at the zoo

Today it was just Travers and I at the zoo after his camp. He had a great time showing me all the things he learned and where all the animals were....he is so smart! We also went by the Nature Center and looked at all the snakes....so exciting! Travers also loved being able to touch the bones, snake skin, and fossils they had on display!

"I DO!"

The girls wanted milk so we went to buy some while at the zoo. I started opening the straw to give the girls their milk and Amelie just kept saying, "I do, I do, I do!" So I gave her her milk carton and watched. And what do you know...she opened her straw, pushed it in the hole (after a few tries), and started drinking! She was so proud of herself! Isabelle was watching and I asked her if she wanted to do hers...she said no.
