First broken bone

I predicted it would be Isabelle! And granted it was only (thank goodness) her finger but off we went tonight to the urgent care. How did this happen? She was chasing Travers and he ran into his room....yep...you guessed it...he slammed his door on her hand. The scream was classic....you knew SOMETHING was wrong. When I first looked at her finger it was flat! You could see exactly where it fit between the door and the frame. I realized there is not much they could do for a broken finger but since it was flat, and I was fairly certain broken, and she was in a ton of pain we went to urgent care.

She did well once we were there and they gave her pain medication. It took three nurses and mom (a pediatric physical therapist) to figure out how to splint her finger since it was so small. We all go a good laugh. While we were all splinting her finger Isabelle was dancing to her favorite song from the CARS soundtrack on my iPhone. Once in the car she continued to show that she still had moves even if she could not/would not move her right hand! (She is dancing to the same some in her car seat!)

We will see how she fairs tonight! (The first photo does not due the finger justice but I felt guilty for stopping before going into the hospital to take a picture).

Isabelle also held onto her pink bear and McQueen ice pack the whole time we were at the hospital. She was so cute!

So sorry about the broken finger. I have heard from other moms about the flat fingers after being banged in the door. I hope to never witness it.
